The Bolt Bus

Anyone want to go to Washington DC for cheap? It's only $1 on the bolt bus. You get first class service, and it's legit, unlike the poorly-maintained, overcrowded Chinatown buses that charge $15 or $20. Service begins March 27, 2008, and will make eight trips daily between NYC and DC. I think the peak time departures cost more (like $10, which is still inexpensive), and it's $1 for all the other times. The buses are all new, equipped with additional legroom, are handicap accessible, and include free Wi-Fi and power outlets for those with laptops and/or portable DVD players. They'll soon be launching daily departures between NYC and Boston too, so check them out if you're planning a weekend trip close by. Can't beat the price!

wow..whats the catch?

no catch... i think they're just trying to get the name out, so they're undercutting all the competitors. they'll probably start jacking up the price once they're more established, so take advantage of the cheap fares while you can!

i was informed by m that the $1 seats are limited. the price goes up once the first few seats are taken, so book early if anyone's interested. it's worth it over the chinatown buses just to have a peace of mind on safety, if nothing else.
