Earlier this week, M and I started using the Baby Einstein mat for baby K (a hand-me-down item courtesy of my sister-in-law -- thanks KM!). We put baby K on her tummy and tried encouraging her to use her arm muscles and lift her head up. M helped her out a little bit, as you can see here on the right, but shortly after, baby K was able to do it herself! I tried capturing the moment (below), and you can kind of see her head off the mat, but the photo doesn't do it justice. We still need to build up her arm strength so she can hold her head up a little longer, but she's getting there. Meanwhile, her legs are kicking so frantically I fear she will be able to stand and walk before we're ready! I'm already feeling the brunt of it, at times being kicked in the face while changing her diaper!Thursday, January 1, 2009
