Next Vacation Planning

We are eight days into the second quarter of the year... time to plan for our next vacation =). Now that most of my quarterly deliverables are done and over with, that leaves some spare time for researching on our next trip. The next one will be a small weekend getaway for our third wedding anniversary. We haven't decided on the location yet, but M received a Yankees booklet in the mail last night, and in it listed the minor league schedule, so we were toying with the idea of going to a AAA game in Scranton, and maybe spending the weekend in the Poconos or something. It'll be cool to see the players up front, especially the ones who have the potential to eventually make it to the major leagues. If not, the finger lakes region is always an option. We already went to Skaneateles our first year... we'd have to find another small town to venture off to this time.

Today was one of the rare occasions where I actually got to talk to M during working hours. He just spoke to his friend who is currently working in Hong Kong right now. That got me thinking... it's been over three years since I've been to Asia... maybe we should pay his friend a visit. It's suppose to be M's turn to pick the location for our next trip, but I know he's not going to, so I looked up some flight prices to Hong Kong for late August/ early September, and found a direct flight on Continental for about $850. It's not terribly cheap, but not totally unreasonable either. If the price doesn't go up by the time we actually make up our minds (of course, that could be months from now), I think we might just end up going there! We'll have to enlist his friend in helping us plan a 4-5 day excursion outside of Hong Kong... maybe Vietnam or Thailand. Hey, if anyone has any suggestions for our next vacation spot, feel free to add a comment!

In the more immediate future... I have to pack when I get home tonight. It just dawned on me that I'm leaving for Dallas tomorrow when I received the automated e-mail from AA telling me to check in for my flight. I'm only going for a day... attending a scorecard meeting with one of our wholesalers... will be back Thursday night. I spend more time traveling than anything else, but it's good to match the face to the name for this guy I'm in contact with all the time. Plus, it's two days away from the office. And that's two days less the external auditors have to bother me.

have a safe and good trip to dallas! it's weird...i just realize none of my companies or projects ever sent me anywhere..if anything, they always make the vendors and consultants show up at our location. ah well. i'm not much of a savvy business traveler anyway so it's best they come to me :)
